My dad asked me if I wanted to go and pray to my tai shui this year because apparently the Dragon clashes with it and I need to go pray at a temple so I get good luck and stuff like that.

Which brings me to my next point. My dad said that I probably would not go (my brother too) because we're GOD-BELIEVERS.

Now I think that's bullshit.

I firmly believe that its a Chinese tradition and part of our heritage and culture. Forgive me if I sound blasphemous for saying this but if God was really that compassionate and kind and etcetc he'd understand that although we're under the same religion, we are of a different race and culture. I don't see how occassionally praying/offering joss sticks to Tua Peh Gong or Kuan Yin a violation of Catholic or Christian rights. Then again, I'm a heretic. Honestly, I believe that if you are blindly following tradition (as do people who blindly follow religion), there's nothing wrong.

Oh wow? I was doing research on John Donne for my PC assignment and my mind's just blown away by the sheer amount of analysis of John Donne and psychoanalysis.

I'm relieved, when I read all these, that I'm on the right track. I did pick up some of the things these experts were talking about. Now to substantiate them in my own way, and to pick out things that weren't mentioned.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love literary analysis? By that I don't mean analyzing for the sake of analyzing, which is what many kids are doing nowadays. Analyzing and sifitng out the true meanings and plausible meanings through the structure of words and choices the Poet has made is a great joy to me. After trying to right pseudo-poems, I realized the amount of effort needed to convey a feeling or a thought. Which is why I love finding the different facets of one same thing: to understand the basis of it and to understand more about the author.

Sometimes people mistake my utmost intellectual admiration for a simple crush. It's not as simple as that guys! It's like FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS TYPE-ISH. I am in FEAR and I LOATHE the pure distinction between my intellectual level and the said person's. It's adrenaline-pushingly depressing.
