Just CRANIAL!
Oct. 1st, 2004 11:52 pmSo here's my summary of all the JCs that have appeared so far and how much a HEADACHE they've been giving me. :x
HCJC - Their tutors are awesome, or at least, that's what I gather from the Econs tutor. Their Humanities Programme is also undisputed too, unless you count RJC :p With the exception that they don't offer Japanese LEP, I'd probably go there. Not only is it a "brand-name" school, its just plain good. Seriously, its on even footing with its rival Raffles in almost everything except for stuff you can't compare, like the LEP. Right now I'm leaning towards here, seeing that its really a good package thing. I should think that their school has the closest "feeling" of a St Nicholas family.
RJC - ...Gosh, I never expected to even be wavered by this school. All my life I've been set on NOT going there, even though the thought of Japanese LEP tugs at my heartstrings. But the horror stories of St Nicks girls going there and seeing people "not study and still do fantastically well, when we slog our heads off" terrified me. Then they came and sad to say I had a good impression of them. What's more, is the extra incentive that they have a Jazz club and they need more saxophone girls (?). They told us that they would consider letting in people who didn't meet the cut-off point, but played their instrument well. Heartstring tug again. THEN AGAIN, being brought up in an ACS family, I have the stigma that Raffles is a NO-GO. By the way, nearly all my relatives on my father's side are ironically from Raffles. Straight A students, whats more. If I do go there, I'll be even more pressurized.
TJC - Well, Humanities programme again. :p But the main thing would be the anime club which isn't a solid reason to go to ANY JC. But MAGICS is quite well-known.
NJC - They're quite a fun bunch (at least their teacher is) and they supposedly have a good Lit programme. BUT SOMEHOW THEY FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EXISTENCE OF THEIR BAND. It was Choir, dance, choir, Dance but NO BAND. Is their band that bad? Someone please enlighten me. I want to go to a school with a good band!!! Curse you Choir girls! :p
CJC - Ah. Hahahaha. Catholic Junior College. Its really a school for commerce-ish people so I'm not really interested. Although I suppose I'll get sent there during my 1st three months. Sadness. I want to make it to a top 5 JC so I can do the Humanities programme...
AJC - No offense to AJC-ians but the presentation was boring. It was rigid. And that's the impression I got. I'm really even considering AJC because it just doesn't appeal to me. Its not that I want to go to a "HELL YEAH LET'S PARTY" JC but I don't want to go to one that's....seriously....boring. I sound really weird by saying that. :\
Well, so that's all, and that's all my thoughts. So basically in my mind, its a fight between HCJC, VJC (who hasn't come), NJC and... Raffles. Raffles. Hahahaha. As a joke, I asked my dad, "Hey, can I go to Raffles?" Immediately, his face froze up and he pasted this nonchalant expression and replied with a stiff "Up to you."
Well!
