So anyway, I've caught the following series during my slack-off time and here's my 2cents worth of first impressions.
Kure-nai: Aside from the awesome memories it gives me of X-Japan, Kurenai has gotten off to a good start for me, at least. I like the plucky female lead, even though she's only 7. More like it's because she's 7 that I love her snotty "hey servant pick up my shoes" attitude. It's so in-your-face and a very relieving change from the huge cache of moe girls this season. Plus, I want to know what's up with her family. So, on the watch list.
Soul Eater: ...... Holy crap I wonder why I never bought the series. I only periodically read it whenever I bought my phonebooks for FMA, but gah. This is <3. I LOVE THE FIGHT SCENES. If every fight scene is like that, this is my shounen series for the season. Please ignore my shinigami fetish.I don't really dig Maka's seiyuu though. She's a little too... flat for me. Soul Eater's seiyuu (I'm too lazy to check up the lists at the moment) makes up for the absence of something though. Watch list? Yes. I'm holding out for Miyano Mamoru!!!!!!!!!!
Itazura na Kiss: WTF THIS IS SUCH AN OLD SERIES. I remember watching the JDrama when I was in primary school. And it was hilarious. The anime series doesn't strike me as funny as the drama yet, but I'm hoping that it'll turn out okay. It'd be disappointing if Itazura na Kiss didn't live up to the sheer epic-ness of shoujo it is. Plus, the mangaka will turn in her grave.
Tower of Druaga: GONZO. YOU. <3. YOU. <3333333. Ultimate parody episode ever. I frankly like the Ura episode rather than the Hyou because of the utter crack that it is.
EDIT:
By request LOL,
Code Geass R2: (it's so awesome that I did an earlier post on it but I shall do it again!)
I am looking forward to receiving my figma Lelouch and watching CG R2 with him. Now Rollo. I have many things to say about Rollo. Firstly, from whose fatal loins did he spring forth from!!? And where is Nunally. I never liked Nunally (I'm sorry! But I don't!) but where the hell is she!? Did she get a sex change and some growth supplements to become Rollo? Is she being kept captive somewhere in the basement of somewhere?
On retrospect the first episode is an almost rushed re-entry into the series. It saves itself because its repetition is reinvented slightly, to stave off particularly rabid and observant fans. I mean, it's virtually (like everyone has said) a parallel of the original first episode. Except a whole lot grittier because we know things.

Anyways, Code Geass returns! Watching this, I remembered why I like this series in the first place - aside from the really engaging political plot line and the almost ridiculous number of political intrigues and betrayals there can be - it's the sheer fluidity of the animation. The sequence in the middle with Lelouch *SPOILER OMITTED LOL* was an eye orgasm! Very nicely done.
