This probably holds true for me. Most of the games are play are usually left unfinished - I have an incredibly short attention span in the fact that I have over repetetive sequences and concepts. I get annoyed by the repetitive gameplay and put it aside. My logic is that, I'll leave it aside for a while until I'm ready to play it again, rather than continue and piss myself even more. Which is probably why I'm more of the RTS, and arcade fighting sort of person more than anything. RPGs for the most part I love, but if all of them turned out like Pokemon, I'd probably just keel over and die. Pokemon was lovely when I was a kid, but after playing through nearly all the incarnations, there's only so much more levelling up and Gym Leader battles I can take.

Which probably explains why I don't hang onto MMORPGS very long. They are, for the most part, one of the most action-repetitive genres I've ever come across and sometimes it just bores me to hell when I'm supposed to hack and slash X monsters to complete a quest so I can get this new weapon/skill book. :\ But still, MMOs draw me in for the initial novelty and innovation. With all the MMOs that I've tried so far, only Ragnarok Online and Granado Espada have managed to keep me hooked for more than a month. Ragnarok Online being 6months, until my credits ran out; and GE for nearly a year. I've never given WoW a try and I doubt I ever will. I have personal biases against WoW (the cost being the least of it) but if someone buys me the software, I'll just give it a go. BUT AHHH HELLGATE LONDON. The beta testing I did was really disappointing largely, but most people who bought it last year have said that the "graphics rock" and that the gameplay was engaging, if you don't take into account the huge number of bugs and inconsistencies in the online gameplay. As of now, I've yet to buy the game (and the Orange Box which I WANT TO PLAY PORTAL WITH!!!!oneone) because my money has been diverted to figure buying. :\

Seriously though, Portal is made of win. Playing the Flash version is more than enough to make me have a companion cube hunger that I have never felt before. <3 Portal.

I found Ninja vs Penguin's link on my cousin's blog and it's awesome!!! I placed it straight on my bookmark list. If I was filled with that level of creativity, I'd probably be a much happier person.

...I don't know if I should switch my major to CNM (Comm and new Media). I'm terrified that my preferred major of E Lit and Japanese Studies will cut myself away from all prospective publishing employment. I'm certainly toying with the idea but supposedly higher chances in finding a job vs my ultimate loves (minus the CNM courses on journalism and gaming, which only take up a mere single digit percentage of the major) is the whole practicality vs passion debate coming into play again.

Of course, I really sincerely dislike groupwork for grades (GFG) so CNM is largely out. Really, GFGs are the bane of my existence.

Okami is coming to the Wii this March!! I'm so excited for that - even though I don't have a Wii (trust me, I will get one by the end of this year, by hook or by crook) - because I had so much fun playing it on the PS2! I haven't actually completed the game, but more than halfway is always good enough for me until I can sit back, relax and really play the game to it's end.

The Singapore Toy Comic Con is coming up this June, and while I'm definitely going to be there on the public days, I'm going to try to wrangle for myself, a press pass. I'm probably going to bring it up to the Editor of HOOKED to see if she can help me with this. I mean, coverage! We'd get all the male readers in!

Ooh. Engadget is looking for writers. I'm not entirely ready to start writing for them - or any other tech blog - at the moment, I'll work on my credentials first. Anyway, I have to start prepping myself for the SOLER interview tomorrow. I'm a nervous wreck. LOL. If I can't interview SOLER, how can I possibly interview Steve Jobs in the future?

i dunno whether lit grads in general have fewer chances to get into publishing- and i dunno how much a good portfolio counts as compared to a good degree- but i do know that it's definitely possible to get into publishing from Noose's lit faculty. (my friend did) (add a good portfolio to that, and it'll probably be a nicer combination...)

Maybe take your time to ask around, and see where nus lit grads go on to? =)

Yup! ahahah at least lit job prospects sounds a whole lot better than the horror story of a JS major ending up as a clerk.

i'm probably going to aim for a good lit degree + good portfolio because CNM doesn't really appeal to me aside from 3 courses - all of which are not in like the requirements for minoring so it's like DDDDDDD: SADNESS.

ahahah at first when you said 'noose' i immediately thought of the gurmit singh "THE NOOSE" and was like "hahah omg!" XD

Yeah and CNM has a LOT of projects. ;)

Hahah, the pseudo-acronym Noose for our beloved school came first. ;)

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words for NvP (http://www.ninjavspenguin.com/blog)! It's great to know that we're making an impact on people's lives.

I love Portal too, it's a fantastic game.
