It'll take a while before I get used to shuttling between the laptop and my PC. I'd love for the laptop to be a workhorse only thing, and the PC for leisure and entertainment but sharing the laptop with my brother brings me to a very precarious situation. Documents cannot SOLELY be on the laptop. So most work for now, shall be done on the PC and cartwheeled back and forth the two machines.

can't wait to get my macbook pro and its lovely graphics card

Gah, today was a rather bad start for the new academic year. I rushed into my News & the Public class 15 minutes late because I got the location wrong. (Kids, 3B/TR1 does not mean level 3. The room's actually at level 6 wtf.) Got a slight ticking off from Mr Nerney for being tardy and then shuffled into my seat really sheepishly. D: I was so abashed. So luckily they were only at introductions when I barged in, so I didn't really miss much - except for names. Mr N. really reminds me of a cheerful Fahy. Well, if Fahy was more like Santa Claus with the ho-ho-ho disposition. It's comforting in that sense.

In other words, I'm in for deep academic shit. :D If he's anything like Fahy, I am absolutely ready to be barbecued and broiled until my brains turn into white mush. We've already got another load of prep work to do for Thursday's seminar. Then again, I wouldn't have it any other way. I live for deadlines, I live for quietly panicking about work until I nearly break but magically recover before I actually go into a million pieces. I rambled off near the end of the lesson when he asked for what the Itule and Anderson thought about news and mutated my viewpoint into my viewpoint and not Itule and Anderson's so yeah, I jumped the gun quite a bit. I will silently ignore the fact that he did mention that it could be a nice little argument for my first Paper.

Tomorrow I have another 1 lecture day (before wtf tutorials start pouring in) for the The Civilizations of India and Contemporary Indian Communities module. Kind of wtf because I have an 8am seminar for this on Wednesday morning. How about Midweek Misadventures. 0800 - 1600 is not really quite a nice thing for me because oh dear God, the lack of sleep and a N&P seminar the next day. I FEEL THE STRAIN ON MY BRAIN ALREADY.

I made this crazy, insane, painful, sweaty journey down to ACER's office to get the laptop service. It involved me going down to Jurong East, taking a bus, getting off at the wrong stop, walking 100 metres to the overhead bridge to get to the opposite busstop, taking another bus back, walking 500m to the damn traffic light to cross the damn road and walking another 500km to the damn ACER building. :\

The laptop's coolant nearly all melted off and they applied new layers of that near the fan. And wtf, it was clogged with dust. Anyway, got it serviced and it's working fine now. Hurrah.

Toying with the idea about writing for riuva.net because of its anime/otaku centric stuff. It'd be interesting. It'd be fun... I'm considering it... It's tempting. I've always blog-stalked it and never really commented (except for the time when my cousin's picture was on one cosplay article lulz) so, yeah. It's just a random whim of mine.

Other than that I can't make any more committments. I'm quite eager to join the Jazz Band as long as I don't screw up auditions (SOB. MOST. HATED. THING. IN. THE. WORLD.) and I've got a practice lined up this Wednesday after my last lecture. Thursday evening is seeing a quick jaunt at the Japanese Studies Society's welcome tea to sign up for the main club (I doubt I'd have the time this semester, to join any of the sub-clubs) and then it's off to CFA for the Wind Symphony's welcome tea.

Now I love band music. I love symphonic arrangements. But after 6 years in a symphonic band, I'd like a rest. I might join, maybe a semester or two later, but while I've got jazz in my bones, I'd rather that of WS at the moment. I'm just going to there have a look see, scope out a place for the future. When I'm ready.

And then there is the HOOKED interview on Thursday, its welcome tea on Friday (if I make it through) and zomg I need to sign up for the anime club (thank god for low committment CCAs!!!). Grah. Luckly the JSS and Anime&Comics club are relatively slack and low on participation. I'd be like, a figurehead in their membership ranks.

Anyway, I'm off. I need some semblance of sleep before a whole chunk of readings are thrown at me tomorrow.
