俺様は電波女だよ。 (I am a Denpa-Onna!)

“(Densha Otoko) is an otaku’s surrender to ‘love capitalism’. What the main character should’ve done is turn the girl into another otaku and bring her to Akihabara,'’ he says.

Honda’s editor, Shun Saito, agrees, “The supporters of
Densha Otoko’ cheered as their hero stopped being an otaku. But is being otaku such a bad thing? Aren’t we supposed to be proud of otaku? That’s the message ‘Denpa Otoko’ offers.'’

そうだよね!オタクがなんても恥ずかしくないだろう!

I should so try grabbing a jock and turning him into a total otaku. <3 Instant Otaku! Just add water.

Seriously though, we otaku(s) and otome(s) should be avid evangelists of the Otaku way of life. Convert every one you meet into an Otaku to increase our procreational opportunities! I jest.

There's nothing with being ashamed of being a geek/nerd/otaku. Be proud of your lifestyle. Your contributing to one of the largest GDP's in the world mkay?

Haikei, Chichiue-sama's a very heartwarming dorama. Ninomiya's acting is, I have to say, one of the best out of Johnny's younger groups.

This post on SGLJers is completely.... inane. And illogical. Give me a second before I come up with a sound response. I'm block quoting everything in order to avoid paraphrases which might not capture what the original poster of the comments meant.

Okay first things first: About the woman dying. Yes it is sad. Now, about the point in contention. Apparently this:

Her husband was quoted as saying that the hospital told him it would need to seek approval from higher management if more blood was needed.

ticks the poster off because "Clearly hers was a fighting case. Unless the doctors were saying, oh theres no hope, no chance of survival in which case, why is there a need even for more blood?" and "So are you advocating that saving of lives need approval? In times of crisis, do you think people will have the time to follow procedures and start asking for permission?" and then proceeds to raise criticisms about the operating procedures (my emphasis on the operating hours of the private hospital) in question.

There's a lot of round-about responses on the thread going on and on about whether there was a need for any red tape at all.

So regarding this point:
Clearly hers was a fighting case. Unless the doctors were saying, oh theres no hope, no chance of survival in which case, why is there a need even for more blood?

I have one simple response really: has anyone considered the scenario where the woman was already at the stage where blood loss was too severe? My question to these people is: If you were the doctor, would you as a person sacrifice limited supplies of blood for this woman without approval from a superior? After all, you are just a doctor. Even the top of the hierachy needs to consult his peers in order to act. Or do you as a doctor, just turn away and not even consider sacrificing the limited supplies of blood for the dying woman just because she's too far from saving?

In a more long winded response, this is what I posted:

Thats it. If all hospitals in Singapore is going to be following this type of BRAINLESS, UNFEELING procedure I'm going overseas if I'm giving birth next time.

How sure are you that hospitals overseas don't follow this procedure too? Hypothetically, if all hospitals in the world follow this sort of rule, then what would you do?

Let's put it in another point of view: if you were another patient in the operating theatre - or one of the many during that night - and your operation took a turn for a worse, which requires you to need more blood transfusions. At the same time, there's this woman who is clearly suffering from severe blood loss. The blood supply in Singapore is already limited. Separate that into all the different blood types. They're even more limited. And letsay perchance, someone in the operating theatre and the deceased has the same rare blood type and there is only that limited supply - do you as the patient want your doctor to just blaze through all the red tape and acquire the blood just to save your life at the expense of the other?

It's probably full of loopholes and errors. So sue me. I'm dead tired from events the whole day and my brain is dead.

Then again, I should know better than to pick a fight with a half-working brain that has incoherent thoughts only.

Note: I need to start on my online Basic Theory lessons tomorrow, start on that fucking shortstory and start studying for my Japanese Placement test.

FUCK SUDDENLY SO BUSY BUT NO MOTIVATION.

GAH!

Where is that Spartan Endurance when I need it?

EDIT:

oh em gee. The responses I got over at the previous thread just. I don't know. I'm quite =A=;;;;; about them. Okay, so I modified the hypothetical situation from Grey's Anatomy and ER.

It's a real situation that happens.

I mean seriously, do you think that there is only one OR in action at a single point in time? ITS ECONOMICS IN ACTION. SUPPLIES. LIMITED. DEMAND. EXPONENTIAL. YOU NEED RED TAPE TO DETERMINE THE OPPORTUNITY COST. How can you have doctors who aren't following the proper ethical procedures operating. I acknowledge that the patient's life is priority but dakfj;ekrja;erjk;aer

So sue me from taking reference from TV series. Good God. It's like its a crime. If I found the same scene being depicted in the Discovery Channel (which I did), would you fucking kick up a fuss?

I have half the mind to actually go scour medical books to just come up with I'm-sorry-for-relying-on-easy-to-understand-media "concrete" evidence.

Or interview a doctor.

Hi spider pig

I just saw your 2007 Japan pix. You hardly spent time in Akiba or Ikebukuro?

I spent around 2 days at Akihabara - to busy emptying out my wallet to take a sizeable amount of pictures - and sadly none at Ikebukuro.

D: I went with non-Otaku friends who wanted to go to Harajuku and sleep more. =A=;;; That's why it'd be great if we all could just convert our friends into otaku.

What meaning does the 'なんても' serve in your sentence exactly? *curious*

I actually have nearly absolutely no idea. (Hence my very very broken Japanese ;__; ) At the time while I was typing it, it was more for emphasis like, "there is really nothing embarrassing".

But it's probably grammatically wrong :D()() and a huge language faux pas. Faux pax? >__>
