make up the breakdown
Oct. 22nd, 2005 02:04 pmI'm a very simple girl y'know. That is to say, I love gifts. Haha. And since my birthday (egads, I'm turning 17?!) is in approximately a month's time, I thought why not give my darling friends *HINT HINT* a clue on what to get or NOT get me. I'm not demanding things, but more so that you don't waste your money on things that I might just give away in the end.
Okay. To avoid sounding like some greedy PIG. This is actually my list of what to buy for myselfif i ever win that S$5000 THAT YOU CAN HELP ME OUT WITH. HARHAR. :x
I mean you CAN get me those things because then I'd think, "oh so-and-so is playing a trick on me." Frankly I don't care lah. But if every single friggin person gets me pink things I will die from shock.
Okay, so onto things that I'd love to have. They're usually rather affordable so as long as you share the cost with 5 other people (which is like, the rest of all my friends ;__;) you'll end up paying like $5. WHAT A DEAL.
Michael Leifer: Selected Works on South-east Asia $95 (I'm hoping for this by a long shot.) International Relations Since 1945: A Global History by John W. Young, John Kent $68 (I have photocopied chapters of it but a hardcopy would be immensely lovely.)Surprise, Security, and the American Experience by John Lewis Gaddis $29 The Cold War : A New History by John Lewis Gaddis $50 (This comes out in December so uh, Christmas present? ;D) Strategies Of Containment: A Critical Appraisal of American National Security Policy during the Cold War by John Lewis Gaddis $29 The United States and the End of the Cold War: Implications, Reconsiderations, Provocations
by John Lewis Gaddis $30 South East Asia from Colonialism to Independence by Jan M. Pluvier (If I'm correct, this is out of print and extremely hard to get. I'D LOVE A COPY. PLEASE.) In Search of Southeast Asia : A Modern History by David J. Steinburg $41 (I. want. This. Badly.) Southeast Asia: An Illustrated Introductory History by Milton Osbourne The Cambridge History of Southeast Asia (Cambridge History of Southeast Asia) Volumes I to III by Nicholas Tarling $108 (Oh. This is essentially important. <3)The United Nations: International Organization and World Politics by Lawrence Ziring $116 (MUST GET.) United Nations: The First Fifty Years by Stanley Meiser $36 The United Nations and the Maintenance of International Security : A Challenge to be Met Second Edition by James S. Sutterlin $45 United Nations, Divided World: The Un's Roles in International Relations by Adam Roberts and Benedict Kingsbury $53 The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx (HAHAHAHAHA YES.)
woah. Fucking exhaustive list. Happy shopping guys. I'm printing this out so I can go buy books later haha. My dad saw the list and freaked out.
Okay. To avoid sounding like some greedy PIG. This is actually my list of what to buy for myself
- Nothing in pink. Seriously. No pink shirts, shorts, bags, cards, really.
- Overtly cutesy things, no thank you.
- And if you're going to get broke because of me, no thanks to.
mkay like don't copy me - Cups. Do not get me mugs. As much as I have a slight obsession with mugs, I only actually use one :x
- iPod 5G. Because then I would love you and marry you. You don't want me to marry you.
- Earrings, because I only have one ear-piercing still. :x
- Did I mention uh, pink?
- Chic-lit. Because I have no time to read chic-lit. I actually like chic-lit. SHH. It's nearly always mindless fun.
I mean you CAN get me those things because then I'd think, "oh so-and-so is playing a trick on me." Frankly I don't care lah. But if every single friggin person gets me pink things I will die from shock.
