Gackted (oh my favourite nonsense word) from
Hardback or paperback? Oh hardback all the way, but they're so expensive. :( And heavy.
Highlight or underline? Underlining's ugly in books! Its really... I don't know. It turns me off. I like highlighters. Purple highlighters though, are a no-no.
Lewis or Tolkien? This is tough because I really respect the detail both of them book into their books/novels. But as of now, I'm going to gowith Lewis. The Narnia series is relatively easy enough for children to understand yet it holds so much more. LOTR's dense. I had a headache reading through it once at a fast pace before. It's wonderful but it'd be probably lost on little kiddies.
E.B.White or A.A. Milne? Winnie the pooh, winnie the pooh, nanaananana, stuffed nanana... Winnie the Pooh, winnie the pooh, silly nananana old bear~
TS Eliot or e.e. cummings? THE WASTE LAND! Though I love e.e. cummings' style of poetry... The Waste Land wins hands down.
Stephen King or Dean Koontz? I have never ever heard of Dean Koontz before (which means I have to go pick another book up), so Stephen King for this. Plus, The Shining is one book that sent shivers everywhere even when I read it during the day. The effect it had on me was shocking. :x
Barnes & Nobles or Borders? We don't have Barnes & Nobles here, the last time I checked. So Borders. I used to go there every week (they actually let you read there!) before Kinokuniya reopened as the largest bookstore in Asia. <3
Waldenbooks or B Dalton? EH! We don't have them here!
Fantasy or science fiction? I usually go for fantasy more often. My foray into sci-fi has been limited to Star Wars novels and eh, that's possibly about all.
Horror or suspense?
Bookmark or dogear? No dogears! They're a pet peeve of mine. Bookmarks in the loosest form of definition. Like I use haha, highlighters (which totally ruins the shape of my books) or random pieces of paper. I think I used a sock once.
Hemingway or Faulkner? I haven't read Faulkner in great detail before. Hemingway!!!! Minimalist is the way to go.
Fitzgerald or Steinbeck? RARR. I HAVE NEVER READ THEM BOTH although I have heard of their works. Actually come to think of it, I have read Steinbeck before. Steinbeck is.. well, some of his works annoy me in that way but others I'm alright with.
Homer or Plato? ): Homer. Why? Because I've only read the Odessey and Plato scares me. Intellectually I mean.
Chaucer or Edmund Spenser? I'm indifferent to both of them. Though I'm partial to Spenser at times because of his influence to Milton and stuff. On the other hand, Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales is holds an aggravating place in my heart.
Pen or pencil? Uhm. Pen.
Looseleaf or notepad? Notepad, because I'm a messy person.
Alphabetize by author or title? Author
Dustjackets on or off? Off when I'm reading them.
Novella or epic? Epic!
John Grisham or Scott Turow? Grisham.
JK Rowling or Lemony Snickett? I like the concept of TSOUE very much! But I've only read Rowling's books. :x As much as the series irks me at times (I progressively got more irked after book 3), I do like the way she paces things. I like Lemony Snickett's name. That was random.
Fiction or non-fiction? I love fiction, but lately I've been reading non-fiction because I have to.
Historical biography or historical romance? If romance = errr Danielle Steel romance no thanks. Then again, I don't really like romance-centred books.
A few pages per sitting or at least a chapter? Anything that I can hold through. E.G fantasy, whole chapter or whole book if I can in one sitting. Things like wtf ColdWar essays, PAGES. XD
Short story or creative non-fiction essay? My short stories are dying. I'm getting to cliched. Non-fiction essays thank you~
"It was a dark & stormy night" or "Once upon a time"? "Once upon a time."
Buy or borrow? Buy, to the despair/behest of my parents.
Book reviews or word of mouth? I like word of mouth better. That's probably how I got to know most of my most-loved books (like The Timetraveler's Wife).
i'll be your number one with a bullet/a loaded god complex/cock it and pull it.
Funny how my memory works. I have remember the tiniest details in (gasp) Harry Potter books but I can never remember lyrics of any kind. Well except for nursery rhymes. :x
