Fifty ways to leave your lover
Nov. 14th, 2005 11:48 pmI was supposed to take part in NaNoWriMo this year but I ended up not doing so, even though I signed up. I haven't got a proper plot, or premises for writing any novel so I though, I shan't. I don't want to churn out a piece of rubbish with no coherency.
If I ever do write a novel, it'd probably be one whole huge fantasy-ish piece which combines Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost. With references to any and every piece of literature that I can lay my hands on. Major mayhem. A Singapore Epic? I hope so.
Project Runway entices the dead pseudo-designer that I was in primary school. Haha. I'd love to be able to conceptualize something like that, let alone actually physically create it. Then again, I'll always remain a tee-shirt and jeans kind of girl.
I'd also like to note that Zoot Suit Riot is an extremely hot song, for some reason. Yes, I also know that I'm weird.
EDIT:
Hell you know, I'm just going to start on the Singapore Epic anyway. Who cares about NaNoWriMo. It's just a catalyst, or rather something that 'forces' you to write a novel of 50,000 words.
....But we all know that I'll abandon it sometime in the future and possibly revise it repeatedly til you all die from the sheer eccentricity of it all
Yay music!
EDIT:
Talking about music and cymbals, I just remembered a conversation I had with my dad. He was talking about Swee Lee and going on and on about how he's not that clueless on the music scene (pshaw being an ex-erhu player and all) and how he was in a band before.
So my brother and I asked him what instrument he played. I think we were all hoping for something like guitar.
He didn't want to tell us. Until two days later when we finally irritated the shit out of himlike a laxative, he told us the elusive answer.
CYMBALS.
AHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAA. I'm just trying to picture my dad standing and playing the crash cymbals now.
