debate-mania
Mar. 24th, 2004 06:45 pmWoohoo! My class won! Think about that for a second, my class won! My class, which is looked down upon most people, won our first debate, and we didn't even practice! Well, of course it was a fluke. :\ Pure luck, but there was hard work on our part. Jessica (again! :D) got the best speaker award. I'm no best speaker, but I definately can predict who'll be one. XD
I seemed to be some comedic relief during the duration of the debate. My POIs were rather provocative and made the audience go "WOAAAAAH!!", but maybe that's just because I was the only one from my team who POI-ed. :\ Jessica and I had this huge show of giving fake gasps and evil smiles at our seats, trying to influence the judges subconsciously. When it was my turn, I guess my style of debating was good, but I was totally crapping about the points, and basically being the source of most of the laughter. E.gMe: Good afternoon Ladies and... *notices that the only male teacher has left* Oh. Nevermind. Ladies.
or
Me: *blah blah blah* OH NEVERMIND! *mutters* that was a lousy point...
Jess told me that the judges were bursting at the seams. Oh well. At least that worked to my advantage. Note to self, work on my inability to stop talking nonsensically for at least five minutes. Oh. And I ramble TOO FAST. I finished everything in about 3 minutes, which is.... just too short. I think I lost out from the best speaker thing because of that. Wait. I lost because of EVERYTHING. XD
The bad thing about winning, is that we're going up against all the good teams now. All those smartie-pants. Most likely we'll lose. Our probability of winning is really slim, frankly speaking. But we'll try our best. :D Anyhoo, there's that calculus test tomorrow. I've got to go and study for it. Tata.
