My brother came up to me and said, "I think I'm going to start a band."

Me: ...what?
Bro: Yeah. I've got a drummer and a bassist. But the bass-guitar player wants to change leh.
Me: ... uhokay. You mean you all have instruments?!
Bro: Yah. The drummer's a rich fuck. He went out and bought a $2000 Yamaha drumset.
Me: WHAT THE FUCK!?
Bro: Yah lor. Yamaha's not good right?
Me: That's not the point?! BUT $2000?! Is he any good?!
Bro: ... Yah lah. We all know the basics.

.... What is the world coming to. Kids blowing off $2000 on instruments they don't really know how to play.

Bro: So yah. I think we can have a band already.
Me: s-sure. Knock yourself out.

And last night he was telling me about how The Adicts (which he was like once crazy over) is not music at all (finally, I breathe) and how Death Cab for Cutie is gay shit.

... WAH. THE FRIENDS HE'S HANGING OUT WITH. I better snipe them all off. They're so. omfg emo-punkWOAHSCREAMO!!!!1 No seriously, my brother declared that he only likes screamo. My. Brother.

X_X

Anyway, today shall be another solitary day at home with books. I think I should just transform myself into a book. :\ 3 more days to the release of the iN2015 finalists, 5 more days to my essay competition... Woah busy life. I've got to go do an economics report.

and we were happy for a while.

EDIT:
Oh the mosquitoes!! >_

SU~PER~FI~CI~AL!

That's me! Good evening folks, welcome to the latest episode of CHOPSTICKS GIRL. And in the last episode (Chopsticks Girl and the Attack of the Curry Puffs), we saw Chopsticks Girl get into a fix because her wooden disposable chopsticks broke and she was being held at puff-point.

Now in today's episode (Chopsticks Girl and the Revenge of the Springrolls), will Chopsticks Girl escape her dastardly fate? Who are these mysterious SPRINGROLLS that are after her and the Sacred Roll?

I was supposed to take part in NaNoWriMo this year but I ended up not doing so, even though I signed up. I haven't got a proper plot, or premises for writing any novel so I though, I shan't. I don't want to churn out a piece of rubbish with no coherency.

If I ever do write a novel, it'd probably be one whole huge fantasy-ish piece which combines Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost. With references to any and every piece of literature that I can lay my hands on. Major mayhem. A Singapore Epic? I hope so.

Project Runway entices the dead pseudo-designer that I was in primary school. Haha. I'd love to be able to conceptualize something like that, let alone actually physically create it. Then again, I'll always remain a tee-shirt and jeans kind of girl.

I'd also like to note that Zoot Suit Riot is an extremely hot song, for some reason. Yes, I also know that I'm weird.

EDIT:

Hell you know, I'm just going to start on the Singapore Epic anyway. Who cares about NaNoWriMo. It's just a catalyst, or rather something that 'forces' you to write a novel of 50,000 words.

....But we all know that I'll abandon it sometime in the future and possibly revise it repeatedly til you all die from the sheer eccentricity of it all

Yay music!

EDIT:

Talking about music and cymbals, I just remembered a conversation I had with my dad. He was talking about Swee Lee and going on and on about how he's not that clueless on the music scene (pshaw being an ex-erhu player and all) and how he was in a band before.

So my brother and I asked him what instrument he played. I think we were all hoping for something like guitar.

He didn't want to tell us. Until two days later when we finally irritated the shit out of him like a laxative, he told us the elusive answer.

CYMBALS.

AHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAA. I'm just trying to picture my dad standing and playing the crash cymbals now.
