Murder spree leaves 7 dead in Akihabara

On a seemingly quiet Sunday afternoon, seven people were mercilessly killed in a violent stabbing spree in Akihabara.

I could say that it takes such a calamity to shake the anime community out of their sugar-coated 2D worlds (where violence is stuck in a TV-box, or filled with Magical Girls) but it's irrelevant to go on at the moment. People have been killed without cause.

Something is seriously wrong with society - not just Japanese society - when people start killing other people because they are sick of living.

The Gnola Eay will now suspend updates for a day for the departed, and hope that the injured have a speedy recovery, both physically and mentally.

I hope that nothing like this happens when I head down to Tokyo next month. Not for the safety of myself, but for the safety of others.

its FINALLY over, the UN conference. thank god. i had a well, bad time there but everything turned out fine in the end!
