What's the last book you read?: Technically, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
How was it?: Wonderful. I love Nabokov's prose and the puns and wordplay. Rereading it for the second time makes me notice things I forgot or didn't notice before!
What's your current favorite book?: Um... The Timetraveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenger. ♥
Who's your current favorite author?: It's a tie between Murakami and Nabokov.
What's the first book you ever obsessed over?: The Secret Island by Enid Blyton. I ended up not only writing tons of stories on that for school, but also I started hoarding tin cans and had a obsession over lentils.
Who's your favorite poet?: Rilke wins hands down.
Your favorite short story author?: Short stories eh? Murakami. The 100% Girl story just blew me away.
What's your favorite genre?: I don't have a particular favourite genre but I'm partial to fantasy/sci-fi/steampunk. I like surrealist and satirical stuff too.
What's your least favorite genre?: Agh. I don't really know. I can't stand Hardy's style, but I enjoy his novels all the same.
What's your "comfort book"?: Totto-chan the Little GIrl by/at The WIndow by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi.
Who are your five favorite authors?: Haruki Murakami, Vladimir Nabokov, Phillip Pullman, Audrey Niffenenger, A.S. Byatt. Do you see a trend here? ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Do you ever skip to the end to find out what happens?: Sometimes! :x
What's the worst book you ever read?: Er... MY MATH TEXTBOOK.
Has a book ever made you cry?: The Timetraveler's Wife!
What's the book you love to reccomend to people?: The Reader by Bernhart Schlink. And of course, The Timetraveler's Wife. I like to slip in The Razor's Edge by Maugham when I can.
What's the first section you go to when you walk into a bookstore?: MANGA. STRICTLY ALWAYS MANGA FIRST.
Do you buy books, or get them at the library or from friends?: I tend to buy books most of the time; I like to own them, read them any old way I want and not worry about damaging them or anything. Otherwise, I'd borrow them from the library. Like how I devoured nearly all of Murakami's books based one many 1 hour sessions in the school library.
What's the most you've ever paid for a book?: $80 for that John Young and Kent book.
Was it worth it?: Oh hell yeah. My history grade went up. Nah, I kid, but I did learn to love history much more.
Will you buy a book in hardcover or wait for it to come out in paperback?: I like hard, fabric-covered books even though my parents think it's a complete waste of money. But most of the time, I'm a miser so I get paperbacks if I can wait.
What's a book you bought on a whim, then regretted later?: I guess Mamotte Shugogetten if you count manga as books.
How do you feel about turning books into movies?: I really don't mind! Just don't change the plot and characters and call it "Based on..." like WHAT?
Is there a book character that reminds you of yourself?: Humbert Humbert. I'm serious.
Do you have a website dedicated to any of your favorite books?: Hahahah. No.
What book you have with you/next to you right now?: This Diary Will Change Your Life 2007.
