My iPod is weaksauce! Yes, I know very bad pun. For the uninitiated, my iPod's name is weaksauce. And it's being terribly weaksaucey now because it's frozen up and refuses to boot up properly. All 30GBs of my excellent music taste is hanging on a thin thread. I'm scared.
Electronic things seem to be screwing up royally on me lately. I think I caught the bug from a certain Leon Ryan (who is known to make routers burst into pyrotechnical glory). The laptop tends to overheat and while the cooler/fans do help with that problem, I still can't play Granado Espada for more than an hour. Dude, how am I going to kick ass during the Zouk raid in a few weeks? With the 2 hours of play I managed to squeeze out of this contraption, I only managed to level up to 8 before the laptop comes dying on me.
Curse you Grace Park!!!!
So anyway, I had an awesome time during lunch today with my best buds Sim and Yen coming down all the way to Shenton Way to eat with me! :D Soup Spoon was satisfying. It isn't the best thing ever, but still, one of the places that serve decent pumpkin soup. I am still on the quest for the holy grail of pumpkin soup in Singapore. Otherwise, it safely resides in my Australian cousin's pot. Awesome stuff, especially in the cold of winter.
I haven't mentioned it yet, but Monday saw me popping by BooksActually (which I haven't stepped into since November) with Clare and Rachel. We went round in circles trying to get to the place because we got out from the wrong exit, but after sweating it out in the humid heat, we finally got to the aircon bliss of the bookstore. I love this place so much. Can I say again how much I love the friendly and affable people that the booksellers Kenny and Karen are? After skulking about the shelves a while, I hear Kenny go "Alicia!" and I'm like "YES?" ahahaha. Hurrah they still remember my nameeee. I'm elated because I'm wallflower number 1. So the three people at the counter (Kenny, Karen and their friend) joke about how I'm the Nabokov girl and then I mouth Rachel's name to them and they're like "HELLO RACHEL" and she goes "HUH HELLO!!" :D:D:D I joke about how I'm going to jail because I'm going to molest little girls because of my Nabokov influences.
And yes, I bought yet another Nabokov book from them. They are like the only people I'll buy Nabokov books from - with the exception of Kino on sale days. I also grabbed another notebook for myself. I am a notebook fiend, rawr!
Kenny asked what were we doing, were we having our school holidays and I told him that we were all waiting to go into University and he was like, "NUS?" And I replied iwth a "YEAH!!" hahaaha. "What course??"
"LITERATURE!!!!" I bellow. And to my chargrin, he groans comically in an "OH NO!!" and points out that Karen and the other girl there are both lit majors and I shall be seeing them around quite often. Then they joke about how I should go to Cyril Wong (who most probably will be my prof) and tell him how I know them and get an instant A+. HAHA. Hilarious stuff. :D I always enjoy myself there.
That was completely bimbotic. I apologise.
Argh. Tickets to PLAY! are completely sold out. I shouldn't have waffled on whether to get a ticket for myself a few weeks ago and should've just bought one. =A=;; Looks like I'll be a permanent fixture at the Zouk Raid party then.
After tomorrow, it's just three more days before I officially start my holidays and start holing myself up in Bishan/National Library in order to feed my brain for the impending USP brain drain.
Yeah, I got accepted into the USP. :D

Pride can stand a thousand trials
The strong will never fall
But watching stars without you
My soul cries
