Hahaha, I think the best part of Death Note was when Nietzsche's book came on screen and we all screamed "GAH!!!!!!!" and I yelled out "NI-TCHER" in that oh-so-JTan way of pronouncing "Nietzsche". XD
So anyway, as everyone would hear me say, I found that the Death Note movie was a bit of a disappointment (haha, I wanted to say "Misa-pointment). It has rather bad acting (save for L, who was the saving grace of the show) and the corny script with its extremely spasmodic heart attacks. XDXD It was like some kind of black comedy, to transform the intricacies of the orignal manga to this... I don't know, sad attempt. I'm disappointed more because of what it could have become. Japanese cinema doesn't have too bad a track record, and I was thinking, they could have done so much better.
If you think I'm being skimpy on the meat, there are like. Reasons. For. That.
Lit. enrichment on Friday (I kept thinking that it was a Saturday) was mehhh. Mehhh because it wasn't exceptionally mindblowing or mindfucking fruitful but entertaining all the same. No the Ivan "HEY BRUDDA" thing wasn't the highlight of the day. In the Paper 3 tutorial, there was apparent FahyxSng tension as Sng just comandeered the whole lesson for herself (NOTE CLARE SHE SNICKERED LIKE A PEDOPHILE WHEN SHE SAID "CLARE MARIE RYAN"!!!) and just shunted poor old Fahy to one side. Made me want to like, imagine that he was some little bear and scoop him up.
But he is not a cute bear, so no.
In other more exciting news, and less grammatically incorrect sentences, JTan and Damo really nearly came to blows during the Paper 5 (after my group's repeated emphasis on Blake and Sex). It started over the definition of "modern man" and on whether we should take a modernist stance or just a general one. Anyway, they were shouting over the class with everyone going "O___O||||" and "9_9 .... 6_6" and then went to a corner to "debate" with Damo finally "storming" out of the classroom. Woah.
And the cutest thing was that PChua played the "hey I'm not any part of this" middleman and made all of T04 squee over her PChua-ness. <3333
Anyway, I spent most of today studying at the Novena Starbucks (mmm Coffee Frapp!) with Rachel, Derek and Brendan Mok a.k.a the Three Kinder Surprises. Actually I didn't get much studying done save for completing the Economic Impact of SEA kekekekeke because all four of us were busy making fools out of ourselves by doing really stupid and funny things. Gaaah, it was painfully fun! I want to do it again! Thanks to my trusty Sennheisers ("Wah steaaaddy sia" according to Brendan Mok, whose name only sounds cool as Brendan Mok), I was hahaha able to block out most of the noise that was going out. But in any case, it made the situation even worse because I misheard or mis-lipread everything they were saying. XDXDXD
Yarr, so while waiting for the bus home, I ducked into The Body Shop to grab a tube of the Strawberry Body Polish that I've been craving for like, 5 years? It used to be OOP for a while, but finally I see it, and splurged $14.90 on it. I shall only use it for special occassion, winknudgewinknudge.
I for one, am about to gobble up more things for the As because my brain is feeling hungry RAWR.
Actually I lie. I'm waiting for the Gods to send me a SIGN. HEY GOD? MSN MESSAGE KTHX?
EDIT:
