nihon e ikimasu
Jul. 17th, 2006 12:23 amCrap. I've forgotten all my particles. Is it 'e' or 'ni'?
So basically, I've calculated that I need at least S$2000 for a week's stay in Japan. Ouch. That means major working time next year.
Air fare - $700 (my mum will probably be covering this)
Accomodation - $350 (50x7, staying at youth hostels which range from $30 to our maximum budget of $50)
Food - $350 (50x7, that's $16 a meal, three meals a day)
Transport - $424.50 (7 day Japan Rail Pass)
------------------------------
$1824.50
[Though, shinkansen trips to Kyoto and Osaka from Tokyo are a total of $404.55... Which probably justifies gettinga proper JRP because wtf, at least I can take JR lines in Tokyo D: Furthermore, at least the trip from Narita to Tokyo would be covered with the JRP. Shinkansen fares kill me too much. D:
JR-East Pass is about $240 for youths - but this won't really be much of use because we aren't really planning to go to East-Japan much?
Tokyo Free Ticket is about 1580yen a day, which would make it about $165.90 for 7 days
I have to plan this out properly.]
It's not bad, having a budget of around $80 a day. In addition to that, I need around $200 of emergency money. Y'know, just in case we need to take a taxi somewhere, or if we suddenly want to stay a few days more. And let's not get started on the amount of money I want to spend on clothes (omg geta and yukata!!), anime merchandise, manga, figures...
So let's do a rough breakdown?
Manga - $150 (approx 500yen per manga, but cheaper if I go to Jimbucho. So that's around 25 volumes of manga. ;D)
Anime merchandise - $150
Figurines - $150
Clothes - $150
Misc items (e.g. souveniers) - $150
------------------------------------
$750
I think I should uh, get so much manga. :D()()
So, $1824.50 + $200 + $750 = $2774.50
Yeah. So if I need to earn $600 a month if I want to make it in April. D:
SOSHI! GANBARIMASU!
