Gong xi ya~ Gong xi~

Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xing Nian Kuai Le!! (And for those of you who don't read HanYuPingYing, Gong Tsi Fa Cai, Tsin Nen Kwai Le.) I think my "translation" is wrong though. >.> Well, last night I had the renunion dinner at my uncle's place because my grandma is staying there. It was well, an event for eating, quite boring. But it really pleased me to see my grandmother being able to walk, talk and smile! ^_^ I haven't seen her do all these for a long time, since she was in the hospital. Of course, there's a downside to all this happiness: her memory's a bit out. She can still remember things of long ago (e.g reading Chinese characters), but she can't remember a single current issue. By issue I mean, who's who in the family. XD Its quite hilarious when she tried to identify people and get them wrong.
Then, this afternoon, I went to my uncle's house again for lunch and for gambling with my cousins. But, I lost all the money I brought there. D: The monkey year is not my year. And it's not my cousin's year too. Ironically, he's 24, a monkey, but he was the first to lose all his money! Come to think of it, he always loses every year. I happened to win around $10+ the previous year. Bah. I don't like monkeys anymore (except for my cousin. Tee hee.) Though, I never feel comfortable around any of them. I feel so unaccomplished, so clumsy and so unliked. :(
Dinner at my maternal grandma's house was okay. She cooked the usual Chinese New Year fare for us, like fa choi, mushrooms, chicken and Fuchow meatballs! Mmm. Yummy. Tomorrow I think I'll be going out to visit people again (moreso for the hong baos. XD)
This year's haul isn't too bad. Much better than last year's I think. I'll take around 1/4-1/2 of the money and spend it. Heh. The rest I'll stash it in the bank and hoard it. Muahahaha.
