I think I have a screwed up sense of humor. I'm making notes for my Literature Essay (LOL, due on Wednesday and I'm still leisurely typing out references and notes and I have six pages! Hurrah!) and since I'm doing the Hiroshima Mon Amour question, I've decided to take a stand that deals more or less with trauma.

So what do I go and do? I name my notes-document: Traumatic Notes.

LOLOLOLLLOLOLOLOLOL.

Yeah, it isn't that funny, I realized. But I was kinda amused.

Other than that, I went for a swim with my mum and we attacked the bakery section of Carrefour. Hurrah for Snail Buns and Cheese Cake that doesn't have any Cheesy Taste! =A=;;]

HOLY LOLI MEGANE MEIDOS. DANNY CHOO ADDED ME ON FACEBOOK.

Since I'm procrastinating, here's a flashback to the past.

Hi guys, you know about college saga?

I'm reading through past GP essays and AQs in order to prep myself up for the GP exam next week.

And I had a revelation.

Bullshit, man. I'm sticking to my trusty old satorial style of wit and irony for the essays. Of course, I have to avoid making the whole essay into an overkill of irony and puns. Still, I reject the idea of total sophistication for my writing. My style isn't like that. I can't do serious things with a straight face on. I need to inject humor.

And come on, all you Cambridge examiners would be bored of reading stuffy old essays by the time you come to mind. Let me, as Mrs Sng says, bring "sparkle" into your life. No seriously. She wrote that for one of my essays.

Trying to be sophisticated only makes me sound convoluted, which brings down the overall effect of my writing style. In other words? I don't get my As. Haha. D:

Anyway, I'm experimented enough - I know what balance to strike. I mean, I know very well that my forte is in technology (minus er, business technology, CJC you nut!) and education. Why sacrifice what I'm good at for something like... I don't know. I can philosophize about.

Back to LDJ.

EDIT:

HAAHA. HAHA. Guys, read tthis and pay close attention to the beautiful monument.

What does it look like?

You know, if the haze doesn't abate, we can have a new IR and its selling point woudl be something like:

"Want to enjoy the unpredictability of getting lost in the Singaporean version of English Fog??
Want to discover the joys of lung cancer and eye irritation?
Get stoked and choked on our new Integrated Resort! Integrated with the nation's incorporeal wonder: HAZE!
The Haze Hotel incorporates the best standards of Haze (PSI:300) in the comfort of your hotel room!
Swim around in a haze-pool and enjoy our trademarked HAZE-lnuts."

Okay, I'm getting carried away here. Hurhur.

I spent 8 hours in school devouring a week's worth of Origins of the Cold War and a touch of Blake (sponging off some critics) in the freezer of a library and the comfort of my HD-201s. I can't believe I slipped behind that much for History.

What am I saying. I know, and believe what I'm lagging behind for fucking history. Though, I just need to refresh my mind on the content and question interpretation-styles (because I've got the skills down pat). But that doesn't give me an excuse to swallow a supposed week's worth of work (ALLITERATION WORRR) into 5 hours of reading and reading and reading. Okay I'll like, go study more on history tonight. And Blake. Today shall be NO ECONS DAY. Arrrrrrrrrrgh. Why am I such a retard? ;________;

So I spent the day studying with Mindy and Jiawen, after having a consultation session with Mrs Sng. zomg she keeps on talking about sex. Not that it's bad or anything - just disconcerting. Not exactly what I want to hear when I wake up in the morning. Still, it was good. Looking forward to the consulatation with JTan tomorrow. Not the 8am PC tutorial though.

i'm being a bitch here. )

zomg. Princess Hours is quite a lovely show indeed! I never thought I'd get into a Korean Drama, what with all the crying and more crying in most of their shows. ShinxCaijing is like the best tsundere couple evar. I can't believe I'm faithfully watching this - someone shoot me.

Next up, is the best forum letter I've ever read.

Taken from the Straits Times

. Dead man's shoes - about revenge;

. Silk - about spirits;

. Death Note - about death;

. The Departed - a crime drama;

. Wet hot sake - about sex, sleaze and sensuality;

. My Summer of Love - more sex and sleaze.

The other movies are about inconsequential events. These are time-wasters and sad to watch:

. Talladega Nights - about brainless and crazy people with fast cars;

. World Trade Centre - a disaster;

. Rob -B-Hood - no theme.

For the bolded parts: no shit Sherlock! I wonder why would Death Note be called Death Note if it didn't have an ounce of death in it. And wow, thanks for guessing that the WTC was a disaster. Is there a disaster occuring in your brain?

A movie that is worthwhile watching would give hope to the viewer about the meaning of life and its purpose.

A good movie should result in stirring a person's mind and heart to do good for society. It should focus on wholesome family values of love and care, and respect for the elders and the government.

While I can't say much for the rest of the movies without blatantly posting spoilers and screaming out rather obvious themes and attempts at deep and dramatic motifs (Death Note to me, is like a whole Machiavellian movie in essence hur.), IS "WORLD TRADE CENTRE" REALLY SO USELESS? Sure its probably boring to sit in a theatre and watch two men beat the odds of dying in a pile of rubble against them (mind you, it's like a whole building's worth of rubble) and emerge alive after an ordeal that even a cynic like me would say "you've got guts and spirit" to. No really, is it really unwholesome to see these guys attempt to portray heroism at its most down to earth level. Oh wait! Let's condemn their awesome effort to survive and not give and up just DIE. WTF GEORGE LIM?!

Note how he added in "respect for... the government". OMFG?!?! Yes, movies like "I Not Stupid", which you recommend, certainly does entolll us to support the education system that the government system has created for us (IT HAS LITTLE BOYS KIDNAPPED AND DISCRIMINATION FOR GODSAKE.). Let's not forget how it shows us how meaningful life in Singapore is.

How should we rate a movie for its value? We should not give ratings to reflect its popularity based on violence, crime and sex, but instead focus on good values such as kindness, gentleness, love, peace, goodness, faithfulness, self-control and joy.

Let's all go watch Finding Nemo now. HEY WAIT A SECOND. WE CAN'T. WHY? ITH AS DEATH YOU KNOW. GEORGE LIM THINKS THAT DEATH IN MOVIES ARE BAD BECAUSE HEY, THEN WE'LL REALIZE THAT LIFE IS MEANINGLESS.

HEY LIT STUDENTS LOOK AT THE REFERENCE TO HOBSON'S CHOICE. WON'T MS CHUA BE PROUD? THAT LIT IS SHOWING UP EVEN IN FORUM LETTERS?

Hhaha, I'm evidently, am a vindictive fool.

But the infamous gssq has a brilliant parody of the letter. Thumbs up.

EDIT @ 12am: ... I'm feeling... strangely deflated all of a sudden. Like the whole Offred-ian inflation deflation moments. This song sadly, suits the mood perfectly. I just need whisky.

Okay, I just had to post this.

We all know that there's a new French Chicken Sandwich at Burger King - I wanted one for dinner anytime this week.

So today, he messages me at around 4pm asking if I needed dinner. I said no, because of the KFC surplus from last night.

Then he replies

No french chicken for you. KEKEKEKEKE.

WHAT?!?!?!???!?!?!

So apparently Daryl is waiting in anticipation for this one.

And hello darlings, I abuse italics and strikeouts for a living. :)

Today has been... particularly gray. The shade is somewhere inbetween the pre/post rainy sky of.. gray-blue yet also the grayness of the rainclouds taint the calm peaceful view. It describes today really well. I've been high, hyper, absolutely nuts during the day but as the sky grew darker as time passed - I'm just tired. Honestly, I'm fucking tired of being tired. But my mind is slowly ebbing away with the clouds as they disappear into the ether. Grey matter. White matter. What matters?

What matters is that I seize here and now. Cliched carpe diem. Which ironically reminds me of Ngo Dinh Diem as a carp. I'm sorry for my unique hyper-linking skills. Absurd, of course.

The first half of the day was rather uneventful. Uneventful in a typically Baba King Day I meant. I hung out with the guys and Alex and Clare for a long awaited dai dee session with my uber cool Jackie Chan poker cards. Come on guys, you know you do! Do what? Like Jackie Chan of course! We started off and then Derek came! Like huzzah, the saints came marching in y'know! Because I started winning like seriously. Derek's my lucky charm. <3<3<3 HAHAHA. Like, I have godlike powers all of a sudden. Nearly as godlike as my 4 di combo that just won the game in one hand - but alas, it didn't happen today. What made it even more enjoyable was my MP3 of PCK's SARs Rap playing in the background (with us randomly singing along) and the really obscene flirtations going on between Derek and Desmond. It was "ugh and squeal" at the same time just watching Desmond have fake come-ons to Derek which made Derek physically hide himself behind my chair. You know you've got something hilarious going on when you've got a guy hiding behing a girl!

After school time was spent mainly in the Art Room with Mindy and Clare where I attempted to read Tarling's SEAn editorial. Obviously I was distracted because I found talking to Clare and Mindy much more entertaining and you know, owning Alphonsus and the art people in dai dee. <3 I seem to be on a roll today! ROLLING THUNDER. Bring out the napalm babies!

OH EM GEE. I had like one of the worst freudian slips ever! I was talking to Rachel online and lo and behold, I typed "Clare" without thinking and addressed her like, as Clare!? And I know that this afternoon in the art room I accidently called Clare "Rachel" once or twice. Freudian slip of the century. I wonder if the slip's pink or blue. Baby blue, I hope. But woah, I think I'm loosing a few screws, nuts and bolts.

Mmmm I had waffles for dinner. Ultimate sinful indulgence - all thanks to having a farewell dinner for Mezraq with Nic and Melvin. We're going to miss him, and his oboe playing. But >D another excuse to go toe America for a holiday!

I feel particularly empty. Addled in the brains? I know not. But I have a desperate writers block I want to cure. I haven't written anything in ages and I feel lost for not doing so. I feel as though whatever creativity has been sucked out of me, my veins drained... exhausted. D:

OKAY I AM SLEEPING NOW.

I would like to proclaim to the vast student body of CJC that I am not the omfg-so-stupid girl Brother Paul was referring to this morning, despite him lookin in my direction so many times.

First of all, my name is "ErH-LEE-SHIA" not "Eliza" or "Elsa" or "Alsha" and any other variation of what Brother Paul said. My name does not remotely sound like what he said, you freaks!

Second of all, am I an idiot?

Thirdly and most importantly, do I look like a girl who frequents clubs and bars often? And do you all think me so stupid to actually promote a clubbing event one day before our Written Report is due.

I am severely disappointed in you, CJC. You make me cry with the pure hilarity of it all.

I had like several people coming up to me and asking, "Huh!? How come you go and organize the party!" and people asking "Eh, was that you this morning?" I nearly died with I don't know, spasms?

HERE COMES THE FUCKING CLINCHER. Ms Shirley Chua actually suddenly said while I was sitting down in the lecture theatre, "Alicia was that you this morning?"

OH EM GEE MS CHUA. THANK YOU FOR HAVING SO MUCH FAITH IN ME. And no thank you Kevin and Wee Min for making fun of me! HAHAHA. Yah right, I go clubbing and go wiilLlDdxx.

In other news (which isn't much), I have passed my Economics MCQ with a measley grade. I just thank God I passed, with all the news of failure lingering around. I also got dragged followed Amanda to town today! Finally stepped into the Apple Centre @ Orchard after God knwos how long. I met my brother in Orchard and began to point him out to my friends. Muahah.

Oh yes! How could I forget! We very happily watched the movie version of Long Day's Journey into Night and The Handmaid's Tale. Oh phoar, naked women for Handmaid's Tale. She was really quite flat and the nudity wasn't like WOAH SLAM IN YOUR FACE. I would like to say that the whole concept of Handmaid's Tale is fucked up. It's a fucked up loony bin, I quote. What is it with CJC and dysfunctional families and dysfunctional societies?

I am Jamie Tyrone. Seriously. Only that my mum isn't a dope fiend.

EDIT:

Oh yes, I have a request. I'm looking to buy a set of unwanted JC2 Literature books from CJC. It's alright if they're scribbled over or horribly mangled. I just want them for reference. Preferably as a set so I don't have to go looking around for them individually. If any of you so happen to be Lit students at our glorious institute (haha), give me a buzz after your A Levels and we'll negotiate a price!
